What Hidden Door is and is not, the limits of what an investigation can achieve, and how the material on this website should be read.
1. We are not a law enforcement agency
Hidden Door is a private investigation and consultancy service. We hold no statutory powers of arrest, search, seizure, interception or detention, and we claim no government authority or affiliation. We do not represent ourselves as police, as officers of any department, or as acting on behalf of the State. Anyone approaching you claiming to be from Hidden Door with such powers is not from Hidden Door.
2. We do not give legal advice
Nothing on this website, and nothing in a report we produce, is legal advice. We establish facts; what those facts mean for your position, and what to do about them, is a matter for a qualified advocate. Where a situation calls for a lawyer rather than an investigator, we say so at intake.
3. Outcomes are not guaranteed
Investigation works with the evidence that exists and can be lawfully obtained. Records go missing, retention periods expire, witnesses decline to speak, and some questions simply cannot be answered. We commit to method and to reporting honestly what we could and could not establish. No agency can promise a result, and any that does should be treated with caution.
4. Website content is general information
Articles, guides and case material published here are general information, current at the time of writing. Law and procedure change. Case studies are redacted and the identifying detail altered; they illustrate approach, not a promise of a comparable result. Figures such as cases closed or years active are the Agency's own records and are not independently audited.
5. Emergency assistance has limits
Our crisis coordination service is not a medical, ambulance or rescue service, and we do not conduct extractions. For a medical emergency call your local emergency number — 112 in India. Crisis assistance is provided in coordination with embassies, consulates and local authorities, and depends on their cooperation and on conditions on the ground.

This website and all services are governed by the laws of India. Any dispute is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in Guwahati, Assam, India.
